Joint Industry Projects
We have a proven track record delivering industry-focussed research through MSc and PhD Projects, CASE studentships, joint industry consortium projects and stand-alone research projects. We have a flexible approach to collaboration with industry and would like to speak to companies who are interested in working with us.
Current Projects
Geoscience and Offshore Wind JIP
Training the new generation of PhD students in the use of offshore datasets and the integration of geophysical and geotechnical data.
TriStore: Tools to identify potential CO2 storage sites
Building a large relational database for the characterization of reservoir quality and top seal capacity of Triassic saline aquifers for CO2 storage in the UK continental shelf and North Sea region.
Basin Structure Group Phase 4
Addressing critical research questions across a range of scales and stages in a rift’s development, and improving understanding of margin structure and basin evolution and assessing impact on resource management.
Fluvial, Eolian and Shallow Marine Research Group
The FRG-ERG-SMRG brings together a broad range of expertise for the study of fluvial, eolian & shallow-marine systems. The group operates as a single Joint Industry Project (JIP).
LOBE 3
Lobe 3 is a collaboration between the University of Leeds, University of Manchester and Imperial College London.
Turbidites Research Group (TRG)
Researching processes of deep-water sediment transport and deposition, linked to facies and facies architecture together with a comprehensive.
Carbonate Fault Rock Group (CFRG)
The key aim of CFRG is to create a step change in the ability of industry to model the impact of faults on fluid flow in carbonate reservoirs.
