PhD Opportunities
Whether you’re looking to begin an academic career or want to develop your skills and expertise for a career in industry, studying for a PhD will stimulate your passion for your subject and push you to reach your potential.
You’ll join a friendly, supportive and diverse community of postgraduate researchers who come from all over the world. The range of careers open to you once you’ve finished your PhD is broad.
We offer PhDs in all our research areas, you can approach any of the academics listed on our site directly to discuss a project. Funded projects are offered through our joint industry projects and government funding agencies. All research opportunities are listed on the University Research Opportunities website.
We also lead a number of Doctoral Training Programmes. These are 4 year PhD programmes which aim to train tomorrow's leading researchers to address problems for the benefit of society. Our academics contribute to a number of Doctoral Training Programmes including the Panorama NERC Doctoral Training Partnership, the Centre for Satellite Data in Environmental Science (SENSE) and the White Rose ESRC Doctoral Training Centre.
You can find information about fees and funding on the University website.
